If you are looking for an unusual day trip around Central Florida, I have just the place for you! The Psychic Capital of the World…betcha didn’t know there was such a thing.
Cassadaga is a small quaint town about 30 miles north of Orlando. It was founded back in 1875 by George Colby by forming the Southern Cassadaga Spiritual Camp Meeting Association. Today, the spiritual camp contains 55 homes on approximately 57 acres.
Nowadays, you can set up a reading with one of the many psychics, spiritualists, or mediums that call Cassadaga home. Want to “talk” to your spiritual guides or loved ones that have passed? Get a tarot card reading? Find out your future? These folks have you covered.
In addition to readings, they have a bookstore and a gift shop where you can find all sorts of unique things. Literally, you can spend a couple of hours browsing all of the crystals, smudgers, gems, dream catchers, dream boxes, and books.
The town also is home to the Cassadaga Hotel. Legend has it that the hotel is home to many ghosts and other spirits. So, unless you like sharing your room with a ghost or spirit, I’d suggest just keeping it to a day trip.
Before my trip to Cassadaga, I had only one psychic reading and I can tell you I was not impressed. But my Grandma is a huge spiritualist and loves this sort of thing. She had been talking about visiting Cassadaga for a while. So…we decided to indulge her for her birthday and make a girls’ day trip out of it.
So we packed ourselves in the car and set out on an adventure.
And…I signed up for another reading. Second time was a charm. My reading was with a medium. “Talking” with my spirit guides? Check. “Talking” with loved ones that have passed? Check. Check.
I know what you are thinking…how do I know that I talked with spirit guides and loved ones? I’m the first person that is skeptical of this sort of thing. But after comparing notes with my sister, her medium relayed the same exact non-generic message from our grandma that has passed as my medium did. A bit freaky.
All in all, the day was a fun-filled girls adventure. Trust me friends – if you are looking for something different to do, head to Cassadaga! And if you want to try a reading, may I suggest Suzanne.
