First, Happy 2018 friends! I hope that your year is off to a fantastic start!  I always like to spend some time at the end of a year / beginning of the next to reflect on the previous 12 months.  When I reflected on 2017, I realized that I considered “traveling” as both money and time well spent. Though it typically contributes to my MS fatigue, there is something about exploring a new city and leaving reality for a few days that leaves me feeling refreshed.

When a law school friend suggested that we go visit some other law school friends in Cali, I jumped on board. It’s been a hot minute since I was last in CA and was also definitely looking forward to visiting and catching up via Levin High reunion style (for all you non-UF law grads, we affectionately refer to the UF Levin College of Law as Levin High). If you grew up in the late 80s / early 90s then any time you hear “you got the right stuff”, you immediately break out in oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, the right stuff….a rather well known song by New Kids on the Block (or NKOTB).  Am I completely dating myself right now?!

I grew up a HUGE NKOTB fan – my room was covered floor to ceiling NKOTB posters.  JoeyMac was going to be my future husband.  I knew all the dance moves.  I owned NKOTB sheets, shirts, toys, and games.  I was a super fan along with most other females born in the seventies / early eighties.

I feel like I’m a broken record again.  I fell off (like seriously fell off) the blogging wagon.  To say that the fall of 2016 was extremely busy is an understatement.  But I’m back and I hope that 2017 will see me be more organized in my work and personal life so that I can continue to devote the time to some of the other passions in my life, like Coffee & Cocktails!

So if you haven’t already checked out my weekend guide to San Juan, you can check it out here.  When we travel to PR over the summer we usually split up our trip between San Juan and Rincón. Rincón is literally my happy place.  So much so, that every year, during our vacation, we scheme and plot on how we can all quit our day jobs and move to paradise!  One day, one day!

This post has been weeks (and I mean WEEKS) in the making.  It took me a little while to get adjusted to reality after vacation, and then I suffered an extreme laser tag injury that resulted in sporting a black eye for weeks, and then work…blah blah blah…and so I’m finally getting around to finishing this post up!

So now to the good stuff…need a beach getaway that’s easily accessible and relatively affordable?  I’ve got you covered.  Every summer I unwind, relax, and disconnect from reality during my annual pilgrimage to Puerto Rico.  It’s seriously my happy place.

Typically, I primarily spend time in two cities – San Juan and Rincon.  Both cities are vastly different and can offer you a completely different vacation.  So sit back, relax, and start dreaming about your next beach vacay in San Juan…and stay tuned for Part 2 on Rincon!
